Description

Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme Collection: Spring/Summer 2018 Item: HW-P25-014 Tag Size: 2 Composition: Cotton (60%), Linen (40%) Made in Japan. These sarouel pants from Yohji Yamamoto's Spring/Summer 2018 Pour Homme collection are made of a custom fabric that also appeared on the sleeves for runway look 11, with a similar fabric in look 12 as well (see photos). For this season this material also appeared on hidden areas inside some of the pants. The fabric is a herringbone weave of cotton and linen with navy stripes and a discharge-dyed pattern, a sophisticated technique that requires precise control and expertise. These types of unique fabrics and dyeing processes are a key part of what separates Yohji-san's work from much of the rest of the luxury fashion industry. These pants feature a double button front, a zipper, belt loops, two side and two back pockets, and a flexible waist. The waist easily goes from 10 ⅝" (~27cm) to 20 ⅞" (~53cm) straight across, making the measured waist size (double the waist measurement straight across) anywhere from a 21" to 41". They are in excellent pre-owned condition. Sarouel pants are loose-fitting trousers with a distinctive dropped crotch that originated in the Middle East and South Asia. Traditionally worn in Turkey, India, and Persia. The word "sarouel" comes from the Arabic "سِرْوَال" (sirwāl), which is itself derived from the Persian "شلوار" (šalvâr or šilvâr), simply meaning pants. This term was further adapted in various languages as the garment spread through trade routes. Approximate Measurements: • Waist: 14 ⅛” (36 cm) • Inseam: 17 ½” (44.5 cm) • Leg Opening: 9 ½” (24 cm) • Front Rise: 13” (33 cm) • Thigh: 15” (38 cm) Offers welcome.
