Flyleather Blazer Low 77 "Mayumi Yamase"
Description
Mayumi Yamase x Nike Blazer Low Flyleather is a collaboration between the Tokyo-born artist and Nike on a version of the classic low-top shoe that utilizes sustainable materials to tell its story. From Yamase and Nike’s May 2021 collaboration that also included an Air Force 1 in a similar design, the Blazer Low Flyleather seen here gives the versatile shoe a “do-it-yourself” inspired look with freehand-style graphics and branding. Abstract shapes are embroidered onto the white leather upper constructed from at least 50% recycled leather fibers. A blue paint brush stroke graces the white leather Swoosh branding on the lateral side of the left shoe. The Swoosh on the right shoe is kept minimalist in tonal white leather. Orange embroidered “Nike” branding is stitched onto the white canvas heel tab in a freehand-style font. Grey suede detailing appears on the toe cap and forefoot. Green Swoosh and “Nike” branding is “painted” onto the white nylon tongue tag. The Mayumi Yamase x Nike Blazer Low Flyleather is an eco-friendly release that succeeds Berlin artist Ruohan Wang’s popular collaborative Nike Flyleather collection from 2020.
