Acclaimed industrial designer Marc Newson was given an opportunity to revamp Nike’s newly minted VaporMax model in the way he saw fit. The result is this bold NikeLab Air VaporMax – a member of the “VisionAirs” collection, highlighting three sneakers designed by three style and technology visionaries – featuring contrasting textiles and colors. Amending the silhouette with a high-top look using Nike’s patented sock-like collar, Newson’s brainchild also bears no resemblance to any runner we’ve ever seen. Vachetta Tan leather paneling works well against Rio Teal-colored Flyknit. Crisscross stitching, a Velcro strap, embossed Swoosh, and proper MN branding accounts for the luxury detailing. Not to mention the icy VaporMax sole unit.
